Combine years of experience at your Melbourne favourites (Mammoth, Common Room Co, Dennis the Menace, Moby and St Edmonds) and the team at Fleur Espresso have created a vibrant eatery in the heart of Toorak with all the essentials: avo smash, quality coffee, and dishes for all dietaries.
The calibre of brunch in Toorak has stepped up in recent
years, and Fleur Espresso proves it.
The menu is extensive with eggs, sweets, toasties, greens
and other tempters. We ordered the benedict with asparagus; the chilli
scrambles; and the bread and butter pudding.
Brunch at Fleur Espresso |
The chilli scramble was the highlight: flavourful with fried
onions, percorino cheese, plenty of chilli, served on a toasted Glicks bagel with
salsa verda around the plate-sides. The eggs were creamy and the flavours
more-ish.
Chilli scrambles |
The benedict was delightful with soft, grilled asparagus, creamy hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs and crispy kale to garnish. I love that they offer different options standard for the benedict so that vegos can enjoy this dish too.
Benedict with asparagus |
The bread and butter pudding was more like a cake, with
layers of Noisette pastry, cream and cinnamon. It was soft, moist and tasty.
The addition of Jam Lady jam wasn’t necessary, but definitely enjoyable.
Bread and butter pudding |
I’m looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu
especially the breakfast greens and their version of shakshuka.
