• Australia's Evidence Skincare - Vitamin C Range - Review

  • Date: Friday 28 May 2021

We can all do with a little love right now, our skin included. ESK is Evidence Skincare, an Australian brand, using science to create skincare that won’t aggravate and actual works. I love that this brand is made in Australia.

Dr Ginni Mansberg and her husband, Daniel Rubinstein, founded ESK and focus on expert advice from doctors, dermatologists and scientists when formulating every ESK product. ESK is now Australia’s leading cosmeceutical brand.

I was recently sent ESK’s C Serum Lite to try.

“Vitamin C is a must-have ingredient for all age groups,” said Dr. Ginni. “It protects your skin from free radicals created by excess exposure to the sun, cigarette smoking, and other environmental pollutants. “It also combats inflammation and other cellular processes that accelerate ageing in the skin.”

The Science

Vitamin C is now touted as the star child of skin care (benefits include reducing fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, surface texture and skin tone) but Dr Ginni warns not all vitamin C products are the same.

“Although some manufacturers will bond Vitamin C to other chemicals such as Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Ascorbyl Tetra-Isopalmitate to improve its stability and absorption, L-Ascorbic Acid is the only reliable form of Vitamin C on the market with strong, documented evidence supporting its anti-ageing benefits,” said Dr. Ginni.

ESK’s vitamin C range containing 10 percent L-Ascorbic Acid.

Housed in an airless pump bottle and formulated with a pH of less than 3.5, Reverse C Serum and C Serum Lite by Evidence Skincare (ESK) is optimised for both skin penetration and ingredient stability.

The Results

The C Serum Lite was created with sensitive skin in mind. My skin is typically highly reactive and I am apprehensive about testing any new products on it. I previously tried ESK’s Vitamin A range, and loved it. So was open to giving my face a bit of extra love.

First, I really love the texture of this cream. It feels lovely on the skin, hydrating and soft.

For the first couple of weeks, my skin was adjusting to this new addition to my skin care routine. After that, I really started to notice a difference.

My skin became softer, but also stronger too. By that, I mean less reactive, less dry and less irritable. Whilst I still have sunspots and fine lines, I am hoping that these will reduce over a longer period of using the C Serum Lite.

Overall, I am really happy with the C Serum Lite and will keep it as part of my skincare routine.
