I had walked passed this place and read reviews so many times, that I thought I should finely try it. Good veggie and vegan burgers were promised with fun sides like crispy onion rings and chips.
Sadly, this was the first place I’ve reviewed lately where I
was left disappointed.
The concept is great, fun burgers, sides, booth seating and
shakes. It’s like an all America diner.
I ordered L’Vego. It was a toasted milk bun with chipotle
mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, grilled red capsicum, pickle sauce, aioli and a
patty made from potato, corn and broccoli. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately, it wasn’t. First it was only warm when it
arrived. Second the bread had been sweating into the paper underneath so that
the base of the bread was wet. The actual flavours had potential but these were
lost by the mush of the bread and patty.
There is also a similar burger vegan style.
The onion rings and sweet potato fries were also
disappointing. Again, only warm, not hot. And not crispy as if they had been
cooked a while ago and then re-cooked and then left to wait.
There are options for vegetarians, vegans and halal option
too – all making me really wanting to like this place. I know a restaurant
can’t be perfect every day. They weren’t flat out. Perhaps it was a new cook. Or the team were
hung over. Or they simply didn’t like the look of me. It will be hard to go
back.
