• Assembly Ground (Essendon)

Nestled in the heart of Essendon, Assembly Ground Cafe stands out as a culinary gem, even for vegetarians. This charming cafe has quickly become a local favourite, drawing patrons with its inviting ambiance, extensive menu, and friendly staff.

From the moment you step into Assembly Ground Cafe, the inviting ambiance sets the stage.  The cafe's interior, adorned with exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors, and an abundance of natural light. There is plenty of dining space outdoors too – perfect for those bringing their furry friends.

Assembly Ground Cafe takes pride in its thoughtfully crafted menu, offering a diverse range of dishes that showcase the best Melbourne favourites.

I enjoyed the Hash Benny with spinach, potato rosti, pickled cabbage, chipotle hollandaise and scrambled eggs instead of poached.  The eggs were delightfully fluffy, and the pink chipotle hollandaise gave an extra kick.

My friend loved the Fritters, made with zucchini, spinach and halloumi, topped with tzatziki and crispy kale.

There is also a range of smoothies, shakes, and fresh juices. The Boost juice was yum with beetroot, carrot, pineapple and orange.

Coffee is by Code Black.

Partnering with Code Black, Assembly Ground takes pride in serving expertly brewed coffee that caters to the preferences of every coffee enthusiast.

They also serve bottomless brunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, which I am totally hanging out to try.
