New miracle face mask?

Who else has been using this time to take better care of themselves? With the main directive of ‘do not touch your face’, no sweaty gym workouts and a focus on rest and rejuvenation, my skin has been loving ISO. Added into my weekly routine is the new Urea-based leave-on-face-mask by Australian Evidence Skincare (ESK).

The Hydroxy Overnight Mask has active ingredient s of 5% Salicylic Acid, a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHYA) and 10% Urea to treat acne, premature ageing and transepidermal water loss – translation whatever your problem, you’re skin will feel great.

“Premature ageing is often packaged up with impaired skin barrier function,” said Dr. Ginni Mansberg, co-founder of Evidence Skincare (ESK). “Our skin is susceptible to both biological and environmental stressors, sometimes simultaneously, so it was important for us to create an affordable product that scientifically tackles multiple skin concerns at once. The Hydroxy Overnight Mask does this in as quickly as one application.”

I was lucky enough to receive a sample from ESK and have been trying it over the past few months. In the past, I was also using their Ultimate A nightly (you can check out the results here).

The mask is a light oily texture, similar to a fatty ointment but it glides onto the skin and absorbs over the night. With sensitive skin, smile lines, dryness and common breakouts, I am the perfect test case of gentle but effective treatment.

Morning one: I could not believe it. It was like the mask had filled in the lines to the side of my eyes and the top of my cheeks. A couple of weeks later, I also noticed the sunspots on my face fading. Could this actually be the miracle face treatment that I have only ever imagined?

I have now been using the ESK Hydroxy Overnight Mask twice a week for two months. I feel so much more confident in my skin, and in myself. I am less prone to breakouts, have noticed a visible difference in the depth of wrinkles, and my skin is less irritated.

A caution to people who love outdoor walks even in winter, my skin did become more sensitive to the sun with this product, so make sure you also wear sunscreen (a good practise anyway).
I love that all ESK products are made and researched in Australia.

ESK is available at  www.eskcare.com. Their online questionnaire will help you discover which products would be best for your skin type.
