Legacy is bringing quality coffee and healthy fodder to Camberwell. Run by powerhouse trio Julien Moussi, Kristy-Lea Deva and Nicky Campbell, the menu is interesting and the coffee is sublime.
The layout is clean and Nordic with lots of natural wood and light. The atmosphere is chilled with music from the 1990s like Moby to bring you back to youthfulness.
There are several vego options on the menu.
I tried the eggs benny minus the sausage. These were served on dense rostis of grated potato and kimchi formed into cubes. Instead of oily frying, it seemed like they had been baked warm to give hardened edges. There was a good amount of spice in this dish. Sadly one egg was overcooked, but the other was perfect. The hollandaise was really delicious – creamy, tangy and spicy.
The coffee here is delicious, a full rich crema which is mostly brown and grainy and a slight froth.
Next time I would try the berry French toast or the charred greens. There is also a tempting range of smoothies, milkshakes and juices.
