• Melbourne Fashion - Winter 2019 - Ruching, Frills and Sleeves

I’ve been loving the femininity of fashion this winter – detailed sleeves with batwings and ruching, corsets and Victorian era detailing, belted waistlines and frills. Not only do these look great on my body shape, but the colours and prettiness instantly lift my mood.

Here are some of the styles I have been eyeing from local Melbourne and Australian designers.

Asilio
Floral Jacqard Jacket
$590

I just couldn’t walk past this jacket when I saw it in the window of Asilio’s flagship store on Chapel Street. The cut, the detailing, the fabric. It is a masterpiece. The photo just doesn’t do it justice.

Zimmerman
Zippy Fan Bodice
Was $1750, now $1225

How gorgeous is this bodice? I love the hemmed frills, the monochrome, the cut. It’s sexy and beautiful at the same time.

Thurley
Talitha Maxi Dress
$999

Feminine lace and detailing are akin to the Thurley label. Thurley just have so many beautiful pieces this season. I love this dress for it’s elegant length, floaty fabric and romantic print.

Scanlan Theodore
Printed Silk Shirred Dress
Umber
Was $650, now $455

I am totally eyeing off this dress at the moment, and it has just gone on sale… The paisley, the smocked bodice, the detail of the sleeves, the high neck; what’s not to love? The fitted top and flared skirt make this dress flattering and fun. Plus it is 100% silk. *Love*

Diida
Attitude Knot Dress
$999

Okay, it is green silk satin, what more do I need to say? Did I mention green was my favourite colour? I love the sleeve, love the detailing, and yet it is simple and chic in this emerald silk.

Dominique Healy
Isabel Wrap Top
$319

For Australian designer Dominique Healy, it is all in the sleeves this winter. I am loving this top for its flattering wrap, big sleeves and luscious silk.

What are your favourites in this style for winter 2019?
