• Clean & Pure: Natural Aussie Lip Balm

Who doesn’t love lip balm? I recently got back from a Queensland road trip (notes on that adventure to come). In the sun and salt of beautiful Mooloolaba, my skin was crying for attention. By chance, I was also sent these luscious Clean & Pure lip balms to try. Has anyone else tried this brand?

I’m a sucker for locally-made nature skin care. Clean & Pure is made right in Queensland, from local ingredients especially chosen for their benefits. The base ingredients are honey beeswax and olive oil.

How do they smell?

The scents are pretty subtle. Usually I find mint lip balm like eating toothpaste, but I liked this one with just a hint of peppermint. Each has a hint of honey too. The rose is my favourite with a red hue that brightens the lips without being overpowering.  The coconut, and the paw paw, are more summery scents, while the vanilla and cocoa butter are more wintery – one for each season, right? There is also a straight honey one.

How do they feel?

They hold their shape pretty well. The texture is a good balance between being too oily or thick and waxy. It’s moisturising without being too thick.

What's the verdict?

Overall, I really liked these lip balms. I always try and buy natural lip balm. But I love that these are made in Australia, and that they are good value ($4.99 RRP each for 4.7g).

Clean & Pure are also coming out with more skin care products in the future, so I am looking forward to trying them too.
