Agraba is new to the scene in North Melbourne.  Exhibiting a traditional Lebanese menu, and similarly inspired decor, it brings a touch of culture to the inner north.

M and I went for an early dinner on Sunday evening.  The restaurant is tiny but too empty to be considered cosy.  The sound system spun the beach boys, and other chilled tracks.

We ordered several mezze to share as the pretty waitress suggested eating like tapas.  The food came out together, and quickly.

The felafels were well done (warm, moist in the middle, crunchy on the outside).

The baba ghanoush processed the necessary smoky taste.

I always attempt to eat the pink pickles – thinking may taste may have changed, and maybe, just maybe, I will enjoy them – they are still not my thing.

The beans were soft with subtle flavours.

M also ordered baklava but found it too soft after heating.

Overall the food was enjoyable, but the atmosphere could have been more authentic and lively with different music.  Perhaps it was our fault for dining, early on a Sunday, at a place that promotes itself as a bar for drinks and festivities.
