Misschu takes dumplings to a new level. With a cool, designer interior and an affordable, interesting menu, I was impressed before we’d even started eating.
The new Melbourne hot spot, Misschu was packed by 12:30pm. Luckily the eaters were just as efficient as the service. We got a table quickly.
I ordered the omelette rice paper rolls and the Asian vegetable dumplings. There were also a couple of vegetarian warm vermicelli salads on the menu too.
The Asian vegetable dumplings had thick skins and were pre-sauced in a spicy, sweet soy. Inside were carrots, Chinese greens, and bamboo shoots.
The omelette rice paper rolls were served in plastic take away containers. The omelette was thinly sliced and alongside a large slice of avocado with rice noodles and vegetables. To accompany was a bottle of thick hoisin style sauce. The flavours were scrumptious. The rice paper was still slightly crunchy in parts.
The aspect I liked best about Misschu was its difference. Misschu has carved a spot for itself in the Melbourne lunch scene. Fast, attractive, affordable, tasty, modern. Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner? I will definitely be returning.
