More trendy than authentic, Thai Food to Go has a relaxed atmosphere with eclectic kitsch furniture and a selection of vegetarian dishes.
Despite the name, the food is tasty but not Thai. The green curry I ordered was less creamy than those of my liking (although perhaps healthier for it) and could have done with more kaffir lime, chilli and coriander – ingredients one would expect to be brought out fully in a Thai green curry. Overall, while it was tasty, it did not succeed in subsiding my craving for Thai food.
There are a lot of vegetarian options including different curries, noodles, salads and stir fries.
Thai Food to Go promotes itself as cheap and casual, but the curries are expensive for what they are. I get the feeling that the food has been watered down for ‘Australian’ taste buds. This is a pity. With its location and the crowd at Windsor, Thai Food to Go still has a dedicated local following.
